Film Directing Workshop

Patrick Boivin

Patrick Boivin’s working motto seems to be “modest means huge effects”. He won the Gemini for Best Director of a Comedy Series in 2002 for his work on the Phylactère Cola project and has produced hundreds of short films. The workshop will begin with a screening of his last short film, Radio, which has been nominated for the 2006 Jutra Award for Best Animated Film. Topics to be discussed include: costumes, set design, stage tricks and the use of the materials at hand to create convincing special effects.
